Job Description

Summary: My client  was founded in 1991 and is listed on the New York Stock Exchange and has quickly become a leading developer, manufacturer and marketer of medical devices worldwide. They have three well-established business segments: Patient Monitoring and Life Support Products, In-Vitro Diagnostic Products and Medical Imaging Systems. Health care facilities equipped with their products can be found in over 190 countries and regions. The company has a global R&D network with research centres in the US, Europe and China. Approximately 10% of total revenue has been consistently re-invested into R&D each year. An average of eight new products has annually been introduced to the market over the past seven years.

The role: This role is for a qualified Field Service Engineer to support of their range of Medical equipment

Basic salary:  £30,000 - £35,000

Bonus: £2,500 - £3,000

Area working: South, East & West Yorkshire & East Midlands (deally based Doncaster/Goole)

Products: Capital Equipment - Patient Monitors & Ultrasound equipment

Your experience:

You should have previous Service Engineering experience within the Medical Sector (more specifically within  Patient Monitoring or Medical IT).  You should be Educated to Degree level or equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Electrical Engineering Technology alongside some experience servicing electronic equipment OR a High School Diploma (HND/HNC) with significant experience in servicing electronic equipment.

The role:

The Service team supports customers within the field with their engineering requirement. In this role, the team ensures our customers receive the best possible service support and service is consistently of the highest quality. The focus is on supporting customers with regular servicing, resolving issues and installations of new equipment.

  • • Respond to customer calls during office hours, Monday to Friday bearing in mind that customers must be contacted within 24 hrs of their initial call. 
  • Take responsibility for the effective management of your designated service area including promoting new contracts and liaising with customers for renewals. 
  • Take a project management role for central station installations within assigned service territory and coordinating the installation of large orders if required. 
  • Completing all planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits on time and to the levels outlined in the service manual. 
  • Assist sales and marketing team with tender opportunities as technical support and to promote service contracts. 
  • Maintaining tools and test equipment properly and liaising with the Service Supervisor/Manager to ensure they are calibrated. 
  • Maintenance of spare parts inventory, company vehicle and other company equipment and supplies. 
  • Occasional training of clinical staff on designated equipment. 
  • Responsible for tracking and maintaining both parts and loaner inventories allocated to them. 
  • Other tasks or responsibilities designated by the Service Supervisor/Manager.
