Key Account Manager - Diagnostics

£45,000 + 50% uncapped bonus

The position: The position involves strategically managing existing business and acquire new accounts to grow the Cytology and Molecular business in the UK South West. You will work with the NSM to ensure a high level of strategic account management, actively manage revenue and ensure the ongoing account development. Development of short, medium and long term business planning which ensures business objectives in line with company goals and objectives.

Basic salary: c £45,000

Bonus: 50% uncapped

Area Working: South West (South West region, Wales, Birmingham, Oxford, Bristol and Peninsula) 

Product: Diagnostics - molecular and cytology

The role:

You will be identifying revenue growth opportunities including acquisition of new customers and expanding the portfolio usage with existing customer labs. You will be working with customers to develop a deeper understanding of the value of accurate diagnostics across the patient pathway.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing and maintaining business and customers within existing accounts.
  • Working autonomously to manage complex sales activities and building strong relationships with NHS stakeholders (lab management, clinicians, finance, and procurement).
  • Working in a cross matrix environment with the Field Applications team and Service Engineering team.
  • Managing tender bids, submissions and negotiations in your region.
  • Developing and executing business plans for targeted accounts in line with key account management tools and processes.
  • Attend local, national and international congresses and events to promote products to all customers.

Your experience

You will be a degree level candidate and have excellent commercial awareness. You must have a strong ability to influence with experience of presenting and negotiating effectively whilst building strong relationships. You should have outstanding communication skills with the ability to communicate credibly at all levels and influence key stakeholders. Relevant knowledge and experience of diagnostic products and systems and applications is desirable. It is essential you have demonstrable sales experience with documented success in a related field. You will have strategic selling skills in complex sales situations and have demonstrated the ability to manage and grow a large high value sales territory.
