Sales Associate - Orthopaedics

Job Description

The opportunity: This is your chance to join one of the UK's leading orthopaedic trauma companies; they design, manufacture and market orthopaedic implants and devices. My client specialises in upper and lower extremity products and continues to demonstrate rapid sales growth year on year. 

The position: You will work with the Regional Sales Manager and Area Sales Manager to support the day to day activities of the local area. Assisting in sales, account management, support and training to operating theatre staff, procurement departments and hospital management within the NHS and the private sector. The role will require extensive travel.

Basic salary: £25,000 - £28,000

Area working: South West England & South Central across to Bracknell (to be based Bournemouth, Bristol, Basingstoke, Winchester and Andover)

Your experience:

You will be a Graduate ideally with a science-related degree, with the hunger, drive and sales ability to be a success in the medical sales sector. Having an understanding of the human anatomy is preferable. You should have strong verbal and written communication skills, along with superior organisational skills and attention to detail.

The role:  

Initially, the role will enable you to build rapport with the team, learn the product, learn the accounts, learn how to train theatre members and start to utilise your sales skills. Once you have proven to be adept at these skills you will be awarded the territory and promoted to Area Manager. You will be supervised, trained and will report to one of the two UK Regional Sales Managers and the duties will include:

Duties will include:

  • Selling orthopaedic products within the NHS and private sector.
  • Attend trauma and elective surgery, educating and supporting Orthopaedic surgeons and theatre personnel on the safe and effective use of products.
  • Consignment stock management.
  • Complete field activity reports within a specified time frame.
  • Attend Cadaveric Labs Tradeshows when necessary.
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports to your RSM.
  • Maintain daily diary records.
  • Manage and update territory and customer information using CRM and personal record systems.
  • Maintain and develop an understanding of human anatomy.
  • Learn and keep up to date with the technical and methodological requirements of the product portfolio.
  • Assist in providing excellent service to all levels of staff within the NHS and private hospitals.
