Account Manager - Orthopaedics

Job Description

The position: Covering the North West (from Carlisle to Stoke) and parts of West and South Yorkshire this role involves selling an Orthopaedic product to Surgeons in Theatre. You should have previous side of surgeon sales experience an a drive to succeed.

Basic salary: £40,000 - £45,000             

Area working: North West including Stoke & SouthYorkshire

Products: Synthetic calcium composite bone graft materials for fractures, trauma and elective orthopaedic surgery (a novel device used in infected cases) and a catalyst for bone healing.

Your experience:

The ideal candidate is someone with Orthopaedic/Orthobiologics sales experience and ideally a Microbiology (or similar)  degree background.  However other surgical experience will be considered (especially if you have the relevant academic background in Microbiology/Similar). 

The role:

The role will involve selling to orthopaedic surgeons, clinical microbiologists  and senior operating theatre staff. Reps are required to spend time scrubbed up in theatre. This is a business development role and the intention is that the successful candidate will grow the business in the North West.Additional responsibilities: 

  • To become a subject matter expert, with an excellent understanding of infection and related issues.
  • To identify strategic accounts and future clinical advocates.
  • To define and implement a plan to: Set up key users, Gather data for case studies, Work with surgeons to collect data which they will present and Set up regional studies.
  • Ultimately develop key surgeons and hospitals into advocates, willing to promote the technology to their peers.
  • Support the existing hospital users in the region with case support where necessary.
