Internal Sales Executive - Surgical Ophthalmics

Job Description

The company: They supply products for use in Ophthalmology to the NHS and private practices.  Ophthalmologists use the products during procedures in the sub-specialties of cataract, corneal, refractive and vitreoretinal (VR) surgery. They are an approved supplier to the NHS and their portfolio of products covers Ophthalmology and its sub-specialties, corneal, refractive and vitreoretinal surgery. They offer single-use ophthalmic surgical instruments, bespoke procedure packs, ophthalmic gases, Excimer lasers, patient beds, corneal transplant products. They are official distributors for world-famous ophthalmic brands.

The position: This opportunity will give you exposure to some of the most innovative, market-leading ophthalmic devices.

Salary: £20,000 - £25,000

Products: Single-use, reusable and titanium micro-surgical instruments for use in Ophthalmology, IOLS, bespoke procedure packs, ophthalmic gases, excimer lasers, corneal transplant products.

Area working: Commutable to Irlam office

The role: 

They are one of the largest distributors in the UK. The target customers are hospital-based and work in the operating theatre, outpatients, clinics, supplies, secretarial and private sector. Monitoring new tenders and renewal of existing contracts play a key role in developing the area and sales. The main purpose of the role is to operate an internal sales function to make current and new customers aware of existing and new products.

  •  Handling a portfolio of accounts.
  • Calling existing and potential customers to sell Company products.
  • Progressing towards set sales targets and KPI's.
  • Compiling weekly sales report of activity to Sales Manager.
  • Assist Product Manager with new products (export) project management tasks.
  • Assisting with the identification, preparation and submission of tenders.
  • Provide sales support to Managers and Territory Managers.
  • Assist with general sales support duties, including answering calls, providing quotations, raising purchase orders from time to time.

Your experience: 

You will have proven experience of working in telesales or over the phone. You will need to understand and gain substantial knowledge of key company products. Any experience of working within an internal sales function is beneficial, along with a working knowledge of Inbound/Outbound sales calls handling. Ideally, you will be familiar with a CRM or Electronic Territory Management System. Having excellent communication skills is paramount for this role. You will have the ability to build rapport with people of all levels and backgrounds. It is important you are able to multitask and work without supervision.
