As Technical Specialist, you will be assigned a geographical region and you will assigned a number of hospitals that you will spend time in throughout your working week. Your main responsibilities will include training Electrophysiologists and Technicians within the Cardiac Catheter Labs on how the system, and related devices, work. You will be tasked with maintaining the excellent relationships they have with their customer base. You will be regarded as the product expert and will deliver technical information to your customers. In order to support you in carrying out your role effectively, they will offer extensive product training and mentoring.

Basic Salary: Negotiable

Bonus: £21,000 - £25,000

Area working: Scotland & North East

Your experience:

You should have a Cardiac Physiology/EP background (minimum of a nursing qualification or a bachelor’s /master’s degree in biomedical engineering or similar) and ideally proven experience in a clinical support role within the medical device field (3D mapping experience preferred but not crucial). You should have the capacity to gain in-depth product and procedure knowledge and the ability to communicate effectively with all partners within the EP lab setting.

The role:  

The Technical Specialist (TS) will be responsible for executing specific customer development and training plans by providing full clinical support to all the accounts within their territory. The TS will also work closely with the Sales Specialist to drive business plan for the territory  in conjunction with the Regional Business Manager (RBM). Reporting to the Regional Business Manager, the TS will be expected to collaborate with other team members (Regional Business Manager, Technical Specialists, Clinical Training Leader and Sales Specialists) in order to optimize customer experience and maximize sales and take share opportunities.

The key objective of this role will be to deliver the sales target within the identified geographic area, meeting all strategic and business objectives, delivering product and customer training plan and providing the highest level of clinical and customer support.

  • Required to achieve agreed objectives and targets as outlined in the annual performance cycle.
  • Support, promote and upsell product specific procedures and thereby growing catheter utilisation in Electrophysiology, aligned with the Business Plan.
  • Provide clinical and technical expertise for coverage of cases performed with the products
  • Deliver your customer training plan and effectively transfer knowledge to empower customers to use company kit effectively and independently.
  • Follow mandatory training and attend local and abroad training programmes to maintain and develop knowledge required to fulfil your job effectively.
  • Execute on key marketing strategies to include the successful roll out of new products and innovations in partnership with the regional New Technology Specialists.
  • Contribute to develop innovative activities to achieve sales targets and to allow the franchise to gain market share and differentiate from competition.
  • Maintain and develop firm business relationships with your Key Opinion Leaders and other strategically important clinical and economic partners.
  • Develop in depth understanding of the needs and objectives of customers on all levels - both clinical and non-clinical partners, to develop tailored solutions, which improve sales for the company.
  • Maintain knowledge of competitor's products and strategies in the local market.
