What you’ll be doing:
As a Clinical Specialist, you will support the safe and effective use of orthopaedic medical devices within the operating theatre environment. Acting as a trusted clinical resource, you will provide product expertise and technical support to surgeons and theatre teams before, during, and after surgical procedures.
Success in this role requires strong anatomical and orthopaedic knowledge, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to deliver training, guidance, and clinical support. You will help healthcare professionals maximise the effective use of surgical implants and instrumentation while supporting informed clinical decision-making throughout the patient pathway.
You will manage relationships with assigned NHS and independent healthcare providers, ensuring that the appropriate implants, instruments, and equipment are available for scheduled procedures. Responsibilities include inventory management, stock auditing, replenishment coordination, loan kit management, and maintaining the readiness of surgical equipment.
Working closely with clinical teams, you will act as the link between healthcare providers and the wider organisation, identifying operational challenges and opportunities for service improvement. Through strong observational, analytical, and communication skills, you will gather customer and clinical insights, communicate key findings internally, and contribute to the development of customer-focused solutions.
Building and maintaining strong professional relationships with surgeons, theatre staff, and other healthcare stakeholders is central to the role, supporting high-quality patient care and long-term partnerships across your assigned territory.
Here’s what you need:
- You will have a basic understanding of physiology and anatomy and ideally come from a sports science, physio or ODP background. You must have the technical ability to grasp the product range and understand the instrumentation.
- Strong graduates will also be considered, as well as someone with a strong physio and anatomy knowledge without theatre.
Basic Salary: £33,000 - £40,000
Bonus: Based on KPI of up to £4k per year after probation period
