Product: Hardware and software solutions for the sleep diagnostics, CPAP products, and associated consumables

Who you’ll be working for:

This UK-based medical device company specialises in sleep diagnostics and has been established for over 30 years. The business designs, manufactures and supports its own hardware and software solutions, while also acting as a trusted distributor in the UK and Ireland for a number of leading international manufacturers.

Its model is built on long-term partnerships. Revenue is generated through a balanced portfolio of in-house products and globally recognised partner brands, giving customers access to a comprehensive and credible offering. The sales team therefore represents both proprietary technology and selected third-party solutions.

Privately owned and family-run, the company operates with a small, close-knit team. There is a practical, hands-on culture where individuals take responsibility seriously and work collaboratively to deliver results. Manufacturing is based in Oxfordshire, with significant ongoing investment in research and development. The organisation is known for being technically strong, approachable and straightforward to work with.

Over the past two years, the company has achieved 80% growth and continues to expand. It is not a corporate, image-led sales environment. Success is built on long-term, trust-based relationships and a genuine understanding of customer challenges. This represents an important phase in the company’s continued development and growth trajectory.

What you’ll enjoy:

  • This is a stable, established business with a 30-year heritage and a strong reputation in the sleep market. The products are British made, reliable and well regarded, giving you credibility in front of customers from day one.
  • The company culture is friendly and personable. It is a small, agile organisation where people know each other and decisions are made quickly. If you are looking to step away from a large, impersonal corporate environment, this offers a more human and relationship-driven setting.
  • You will have genuine autonomy. There is real freedom to shape your territory, manage your time and bring forward new ideas. Improvements are welcomed and implemented, and there is no excessive bureaucracy slowing you down.
  • For someone who values trust, ownership and long-term stability, this is an opportunity to do a solid job in a well-respected business without corporate noise.

What you’ll be doing:

This is a territory sales role responsible for managing and growing NHS sleep and respiratory accounts across the South East. The focus is on developing long-term, trust-based relationships while driving both capital and recurring revenue growth.

You will take ownership of key NHS and university accounts, working closely with the CEO and technical team. As part of a small organisation, you will be involved in the full sales process from initial enquiry through to quotation, order and ongoing account support. This is a highly autonomous position requiring strong self-management, structured territory planning and proactive account development.

Key Focus Areas

  • Selling capital equipment via NHS tenders.
  • Influencing specifications ahead of tender release.
  • Driving follow-on consumables revenue.
  • Identifying and pursuing maintenance and warranty extension opportunities.
  • Building strong, long-term relationships with physiologists, consultants, procurement and EBME teams.
  • Ensuring visibility across multiple stakeholders within each Trust.
  • Managing territory activity using an established platinum, gold, silver and bronze classification model.
  • Attending six or more conferences and events annually.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing hospital and university accounts.
  • Develop new business opportunities across the territory.
  • Present and demonstrate equipment and software solutions.
  • Prepare quotations and proposals.
  • Manage the full sales process from enquiry to order.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records and forecasting discipline.
  • Work closely with internal technical and support teams.
  • Contribute to marketing initiatives and product development feedback.
  • Your core customer base will be sleep physiologists and clinical teams, supported by consultant physicians, procurement and EBME departments. Many stakeholders operate under significant time pressure, so empathy, clarity and reliability are essential.

This is a senior, trusted role with scope to develop into a leadership position as the company grows. Travel is typically 25–50%, with occasional overnight stays.

Here’s what you need:

  • Proven track record selling into the NHS with good tenure in previous roles.
  • Experience within the sleep or CPAP market advantageous.
  • Demonstrable success managing and developing a defined territory.
  • Evidence of structured forecasting and pipeline management discipline.

Skills and Capability

  • Confident, independent, self-starting salesperson.
  • Strong relationship builder with a long-term, trust-led approach.
  • Methodical in territory planning, appointment booking and follow-up.
  • Proactive in outbound activity and comfortable making calls.
  • Organised and disciplined in managing time and accounts.
  • Able to work effectively with autonomy and minimal supervision.

Personal Attributes

  • Mature and grounded.
  • Self-motivated and accountable for results.
  • Comfortable operating in a small, less corporate environment.
  • Trustworthy, consistent and dependable. Motivated by doing a solid job rather than corporate progression.
  • Structured, process-driven salesperson.
  • Strong at forecasting and planning.
  • Proactive in securing appointments and driving activity.
  • Comfortable without rigid corporate infrastructure.
  • Enjoys autonomy and ownership of territory performance.
