About the Role

Location: National, field-based role covering the UK

Products: Spinal surgical robotics and navigation technology

Who you’ll be working for:

Our client is a global medical technology company with an established reputation in orthopaedics and spinal surgery. Its portfolio includes surgical implants, instruments and digital technologies that support healthcare professionals in delivering patient care.

The UK spine business is expanding, with new systems joining its portfolio and a spinal robotics platform preparing for introduction to the UK market.

Why should you join?

You’ll join a world-leading medical technology company with a reputation for excellence at a significant stage in the growth of its UK spine business. The portfolio is expanding with new spinal deformity systems launching, alongside the first UK introduction of its spinal robot at the end of the year.

This gives you the opportunity to play a central role in introducing the technology to hospitals, supporting surgeons and theatre teams from their first cases through to confident, routine use.

You’ll work in an environment that supports your career aspirations and promotes your physical and mental wellbeing. Alongside a competitive salary and bonus, you’ll receive a comprehensive benefits package with options you can tailor to what matters to you at different stages of your life.

Job overview

As Clinical Specialist, you’ll lead the clinical introduction, adoption and effective use of spinal robotics and navigation technology across UK hospitals. You’ll act as the clinical expert for surgeons and hospital teams, helping them integrate the technology into their surgical workflows and use it safely and consistently.

Working closely with sales, marketing and medical education colleagues, you’ll support new site launches, deliver training and provide practical support in theatre. The position involves significant travel across the UK and requires someone comfortable working independently.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading clinical implementation and supporting the launch of systems into new centres.

  • Providing in-theatre case support and troubleshooting clinical and technical issues.

  • Delivering hands-on training, product demonstrations and structured education for surgeons and theatre teams.

  • Supporting case planning, surgical workflows and consistent use of the technology.

  • Building relationships with spinal surgeons, nursing teams, hospital management and digital stakeholders.

  • Encouraging sustained utilisation and monitoring clinical usage, performance and outcomes.

  • Supporting evaluations, bids and account plans alongside the wider commercial team.

  • Sharing customer feedback and clinical insights to inform product and workflow improvements.

Your requirements

Experience with robotics in spinal surgery is essential for this position.

You’ll bring a strong understanding of spinal procedures and the operating theatre environment, together with the confidence to support surgical teams during live cases.

We’re looking for:

  • A clinical background, such as an ODP, scrub nurse, allied health professional or equivalent.

  • Relevant experience in spinal surgery, orthopaedics and enabling technologies, including spinal robotics.

  • A thorough understanding of surgical workflows and the practical demands of theatre.

  • Strong communication, presentation and training skills, with the ability to explain technical information clearly.

  • The ability to build credibility with surgeons and work effectively with multidisciplinary hospital teams.

  • A practical approach to troubleshooting and supporting the adoption of new technology.

  • The organisation and independence needed to manage a national, field-based role with significant travel.

Basic salary: £52,000 to £61,000

Bonus: £18,000 per annum, paid quarterly

Car: Company car with electric and hybrid options, or allowance options of £7,000 cash or £6,000 towards a lease per year

Benefits: 25 days’ holiday, pension, healthcare, lunch allowance, laptop and a range of flexible benefits and employee discounts
