About the Role

Location: Scotland. This is a field-based role covering Scotland, with key accounts and opportunities across Glasgow, Lanarkshire, Golden Jubilee, Edinburgh, Dundee, Grampian/Aberdeen and surrounding referral networks.

Who you'll be working for:

  • Our client is a global medical device company specialising in devices, implants and services for the treatment of peripheral vascular disease.
  • The business operates internationally, with products sold in more than 90 countries. Its portfolio is focused primarily on the needs of vascular surgeons and includes products used across aortic, AV access, cardiac, carotid, lower extremity and neuro applications.
  • Despite its global reach, the company deliberately maintains an entrepreneurial, small-company culture with an emphasis on teamwork, commercial freedom and decentralised decision-making.

Why you should join:

  • This is a role for someone who wants genuine ownership of their territory rather than operating within a heavily structured corporate sales environment.
  • Scotland already has an established customer presence, but there is considerable headroom to grow product adoption, reactivate accounts and develop new business. You will have the freedom to identify where the opportunities lie and shape your territory accordingly.
  • You will also have access to a broad specialist portfolio rather than being restricted to a single product, creating multiple opportunities to engage customers and develop accounts.
  • The culture particularly suits commercially driven people who enjoy autonomy, are prepared to create their own opportunities and want their individual contribution to have a visible impact on business performance. The company combines the reach of an international medical device business with a more agile, entrepreneurial working environment.

What you'll be doing:

This is an opportunity to take ownership of an established but underdeveloped Scotland territory with significant potential for growth.

You will be responsible for developing sales and profitability across the region, strengthening existing accounts and identifying new opportunities across a broad specialist vascular portfolio. Glasgow is a particular priority and represents one of the company's largest UK centres, while there is further potential across other major Scottish accounts.

This is not simply an account maintenance role. You will be expected to actively create growth by understanding individual accounts, identifying gaps in product usage, developing clinical advocates and introducing products into new areas.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Achieving monthly, quarterly and annual sales and gross profit objectives.

  • Developing and executing territory and individual account plans.

  • Identifying new opportunities within existing, underdeveloped and target accounts.

  • Building relationships with vascular surgeons, interventionalists, theatre teams, procurement and hospital purchasing stakeholders.

  • Driving adoption of the wider product portfolio, including key growth products within vascular and surgical applications.

  • Supporting customers in theatre and attending procedures where appropriate.

  • Delivering product training, workshops and first-use support.

  • Managing both clinician-led and procurement-led sales processes.

  • Preparing customer quotations and proposals.

  • Managing consignment stock and coordinating customer and product activity.

  • Maintaining accurate CRM records and developing opportunities through Salesforce.

  • Working independently across the territory while collaborating closely with the National Sales Manager and wider team.

What you'll need:

You will ideally be an experienced medical device sales professional who is comfortable working within surgical, theatre or procedural environments.

Cardiovascular, vascular or endovascular experience would be advantageous, but is not essential. More important is your ability to develop new business, manage a territory independently and build credibility with hospital-based clinical and commercial stakeholders.

You should have:

  • Existing medical device sales experience.

  • Experience selling products used within theatre or procedural environments.

  • A demonstrable track record of developing business rather than simply maintaining established accounts.

  • Confidence engaging with clinicians, theatre teams, procurement and other hospital stakeholders.

  • Strong territory management, planning and organisational skills.

  • A proactive, commercially curious and opportunity-led approach.

  • The confidence to challenge customers constructively and overcome objections.

  • The independence and resilience to operate successfully within a lean, entrepreneurial organisation.

  • Good CRM and Microsoft Office skills. Salesforce experience would be advantageous.

  • Willingness to travel extensively throughout Scotland.

Basic salary: £50,000

Bonus/commission: Target earnings equivalent to 40% of basic salary, structured across monthly, quarterly and annual components. Monthly commission starts at 85% of sales plan, with performance capped at 225%. Quarterly bonus is capped at 100% and year-end bonus at 120% of plan.

Pension: 4% employer contribution.

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays.
