The Opportunity:

They provide a range of innovative eye health products with a special focus on dry eye, retinal diseases and Meibomian gland dysfunction.

Basic salary: £40,000 - £45,000

Bonus: up to £20,000

Area working: Scotland 

Products: Lubricants for dry eye, an eye mask used to apply gentle heat to eyelids, an in vitro diagnostic medical device for conjunctivitis

Your experience:

You will be incredibly hungry for success and to want to prove yourself within the Ophthalmic market. Any relevant Ophthalmology experience within the territory and established relationships with secondary care Ophthalmologists would be ideal. However, high performing junior GP or healthcare representatives without ophthalmology experience will also be considered. You must be full of spark and determination to work with this company and what's most important is your attitude, independence and the ability to use your own initiative.  Having the ABPI is beneficial but not essential as the products are classed as devices. You should be highly motivated and keen to build and run a successful and top ranking territory. You should be excited about being part of building a new company and establishing its place in the local Ophthalmology marketplace.

The role:

You will be selling primarily to hospitals to Ophthalmologists, but also working collaboratively with colleagues to drive CCG policy approvals across local health economies. This is a unique hospital sales role, where you will additionally have autonomy to be able to offer a unique commercial discount to Dispensing Doctors in primary care to help supplement the hospital referral business. You will be selling a portfolio of 6 related dry eye products into hospital eye departments which are highly rated by Clinicians. These products are technically classed as devices but are very much pharmaceutical in terms of how they are sold into the NHS. This is a heavily sales based role - 70% of appraisal rating is on sales outcomes and bonus payments are based 100% on sales and there is lots of growth/ earning potential on territory.
