Junior Area Sales Manager - Orthopaedics

Job Description

The Company:  This is your chance to join one of the UK's leading orthopaedic trauma companies; they design, manufacture and market orthopaedic implants and devices. My client specialises in upper and lower extremity products and continues to demonstrate rapid sales growth year on year.  This role is ideally suited to those who wish to break into medical sales as it will offer progression to Area Sales Manager for the right candidate.

The Position: The successful candidate will be providing account and clinical support for the South West region but will ideally be located in Exeter or the surrounding area. They are looking to recruit an enthusiastic, dynamic and eager candidate for a growing region of the business

Basic salary: £24,000 - £30,000 (+ bonus after probation)

The role:

The successful candidate will be providing training support to Orthopaedic Surgeons, operating theatre staff, procurement departments and hospital management within the NHS and the private sector. 

Duties will include: 

  • Attending trauma and elective surgery, educating and supporting Orthopaedic surgeons and all theatre personnel.
  • Growing the territory in line with targets set and maintaining existing core business.
  • Assisting the Area Managers with managing and auditing stock out in the field.
  • Training theatre staff in the safe and effective use of equipment.
  • Keeping up to date with industry changes.
  • Learning the technical and methodological requirements of our products.
  • Attending symposiums/trade shows when required.
  • Maintain and develop an understanding of human anatomy.

Your experience:

You will be a science, business or engineering Graduate with the hunger, drive and sales ability to be a success in the medical sales sector. Having an understanding of the human anatomy is preferable.  You should have strong verbal and written communication skills, along with superior organisational skills and attention to detail. Previous experience in trauma is not essential but a keen willingness to learn and develop within a fast paced role is crucial. Although this is an entry-level role with ongoing development and training, this is a targeted sales role and the successful candidate will manage the South West territory and will ideally be located in or around Exeter. The role will require UK and some international travel.
