Job Description

The company: This organisation was the first private company to offer a stem cell storage and collection service in the UK.

As doctors and scientists, the founders were aware of the potential benefits of umbilical cord blood stem cells but were unable to find a company that offered the level of service and support they thought was required for this specialised medical service. So they decided to found their own, scientifically and medically led, stem cell storage bank. By making clinical, scientific and evidence-based information available to parents they hope to allow them to make an informed decision about cord blood storage. They are working very hard to set the standards in the testing, processing and assessment of these precious samples. 

The position: This is an Internal Sales Representative role where you will develop and manage relationships with potential and existing customers through both online and telephone based sales.

Basic salary: £17,000 - £20,000

Bonus: £8,000 - £10,000

Area working: Office based - Burgess Hill, West Sussex

Product/service: Umbilical stem cell banking service

The role:

You will be working for a company who specialise in umbilical stem cell storage. Stem cell medicine is a new era of medical therapy allowing personalised treatment for a growing range of medical disorders and diseases. Stem cells from the umbilical cord can be used to treat disease and injury, and are considered to be the cornerstone of regenerative therapies. There are two stem cell treatments receiving particular focus at the moment; namely Transplants e.g. blood cancers and Regenerative Therapy e.g. spinal injury. The role is a consultative, service-led sales role.  You must be able to understand the medical concepts behind the product offering and relate these to their prospects personal needs in a non-emotive way. Follow up all sales in a timely manner to ensure customer satisfaction, incorporating:

  • Responding to customer queries relating to the UK sales base promptly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow up all prospects in timely manner.
  • Follow through customers in sales process to successful close.
  • Customers include Hospitals, Head of Midwifery, Labour Ward Manager, Senior Midwife, Third party contractors.
  • Maintain a high conversion rate of leads to sales.
  • Providing contact information and response to international requests as necessary.
  • Logging and resolving customer complaints as they arise, escalating appropriately for resolution.
  • Responsible for maintaining out of hours phone service for emergency kit dispatches on rotational basis with other members of sales.
  • Record all information on the company's CRM.
  • Relay sample testing results to customers in a timely, professional and knowledgeable manner, incorporating: Confirming receipt of sample(s) and notifying customers of initial viability results within the allotted time frame, following up contamination queries with customers to confirm their requirement to store or destroy sample.
  • Check for and resolve any outstanding issue preventing Testing Certificate dispatch, incorporating: ensuring receipt of and obtaining, where relevant, all required documentation, ensuring receipt of and obtaining, where relevant, full payment, identify aged debtors and follow up to resolve payment delinquencies using the prescribed procedures.
     

Your experience:

For this role you must be educated to degree level and have an excellent telephone manner. You will be confident communicating with customers, fully committed and results driven. You should have the ability to manage and prioritise your work load and have a high attention to detail with 'right first time' as a priority. You need to be able to work effectively as part of a team and have the ability to improve processes and services if necessary.
