Job Description

Summary: An excellent opportunity to work within a very specialist surgical market.  Dealing specifically with extremities and Foot & Ankle Surgeons, you will be responsible for demonstrating the products during theatre procedures & securing sales/market share.

Basic salary: £48,000 - £53,000

Bonus: £16K on target

Area Working: Cheshire, North Wales, South Manchester, Liverpool

Products: Orthopaedic Hand, Wrist, Shoulder, foot and ankle  implants

Your experience:

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of consistently achieving  sales targets with a focus on return on investment  and ideally a working knowledge of the orthopaedic sales, however other Theatre sales experience would be considered.  A high level of personal impact and credibility gained from experience in the field and demonstrable experience of strong customer development and management. My client is looking for a detailed knowledge and understanding of the NHS environment and private sector .

The role:

  • To be responsible for the market penetration/new business development activities within extremtities.
  • To position our business favourably for growth and market share versus the evolution in the health care industry and competitive trends.
  • To be responsible for the specialist product knowledge and training of the UK sales force, monitor trends and improve market intelligence.
  • Responsible for creating and developing territory "new" account plans in line with national strategy.
  • Responsibility for setting up processes in liaison with the GM to identify and select potential new accounts.
  • Make an active contribution to the development of effective product marketing strategies or sales force effectiveness initiatives when required.
  • Proactively identify ways of improving the efficiency and profitability of business operations within areas of responsibility.
  • Development of key opinion leaders and future opinion leaders as highlighted with the sales team.
  • To implement successful product introductions in liaison with GM and as defined by global strategy.
  • Responsible for gathering and feeding back competitor intelligence.
  • Responsible for organising and running training workshops, symposia with the sales team including ensuring effective delivery of key selling messages and use of appropriate marketing materials.
  • Establish close working relationship with the sales team and global marketing.
  • Attendance at local, national (and occasionally, international) courses and congress.
  • Develop technical expertise with respect to specified product areas. This includes product knowledge, sales volume and trends, cost and margin information as well as customer wants and needs.
