What sectors do we cover?

Healthcare sales

This involves selling a medical product either into hospitals or the community, or possibly into both. Products range from capital equipment (e.g. patient monitors) and devices (e.g. orthopaedics) to disposables (e.g. wound care).

Positions frequently demand both new business and account management responsibilities.

For theatre-based products, sales often take place at the side of surgeons during procedure. Not for the faint hearted!

Pharmaceutical sales

Pharmaceutical sales representatives provide a key link between pharmaceutical companies, medical and healthcare professionals.

Pharma sales jobs have changed dramatically in recent years. Principally, the representative has had to become an accepted part of clinical teams. This is only possible by building exceptionally strong customer relationships.

Successful reps must be capable of selling in both a clinical and commercial capacity. Respect must be gained from GPs or Hospital Consultants with the provision of important clinical data to support the use of the promoted drug. At the same time, representatives must acknowledge that funding issues have to be addressed to ensure that suitable patients have access to the latest treatments.

Dental sales vacancies for candidatesDental – services, consumables and capital

Dental sales representatives sell a wide range of products, in fact everything that you would find in a dental practice (NHS or private) or dental hospital.

The role often entails promoting the use of and selling dental products to dentists, hospital, laboratory and community staff, plus retail and wholesale establishments. The principle customer base in this sector consists of vets, practice managers and veterinary nurses in private practice, together with veterinary surgeons in animal hospitals.

Relationship building is key, as is the ability to close business deals. Client companies vary in size from small independents to multinational corporations.

The technicians and managers in all laboratories, whether public or private sector, use consumables and technologically advanced equipment to help them in their analysis.

Laboratory sales representatives sell general supplies to all laboratories and different types of equipment, dependant on the laboratory speciality. Whilst a life science degree is advantageous, most companies look for candidates who can offer a commercial edge.

Clinical research is an area of scientific research dedicated to establishing the efficacy and safety of various medicines and devices which are used in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases in humans. The research is carried out with study patients in a clinical study.

Where living organisms are used for therapeutic benefits to humans or to provide useful products or processes, we refer to the term as Biotechnology.

Biotechnology is routinely important in the pharmaceutical industry for the development of products to treat disease. Typical roles available in these sectors include Clinical Research Associate, Drug Safety Associates, Bio-statisticians and Regulatory Affairs Managers.
