The Company: My client has been servicing the UK ophthalmic market for over 30 years. During this time they have introduced many revolutionary innovations such as the phaco and vitrectomy systems in the 1980s. With the advent of injectable intra-ocular lenses (IOL) in the late 1980's, They have grown to become the largest independent supplier of ophthalmic surgical and diagnostic products in the UK market.
The Position: This is a sales role dedicated to the North East region. You should have good work ethic and a drive to succeed as well as previous Theatre/Surgical sales experience

Approximately 90% of this role will be spent scrubbed up in theatre dealing with consultant ophthalmologists, theatre managers and theatre sisters. The remaining time will be spent dealing with outpatient clinics and supplies. This is a technical sell that requires the ability to deal with technical information as well as building up strong relationships.
You should be a graduate with prior sales experience, ideally but not essentially gained in Healthcare or Surgical sales. However, other industry sales experience will be considered if you can demonstrate your research and passion for moving to this market. The right candidate needs to be technically minded for a technical sell, this may have been demonstrated in a prior role or university degree. Above all, the right candidate will be personable and excellent at developing relationships quickly.
